Is Samsung Galaxy Note’s 5.3” Screen Too Big For You?

How important is a mobile phone’s screen real estate? For me, I want something big enough to watch pictures, play videos and enjoy 3D games, but not too big that it’ll be difficult to hold or a little awkward when putting it next to my ear when taking calls. My ideal screen for mobile phones would be 4.3”, anything bigger than that crosses the tablet category.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note has a 5.3” screen. It is a feature rich, powerful phone and you’ll almost see no flaw on its specs. The battery is a 2500 mAh, which I believe is enough considering that the wider the screen, the more power it requires. It has a stylus which you can’t find on most smartphones at present. I think it’s useful when you want to make doodles on some pictures and for note taking.

1080p full HD video recording
2MP front-facing camera

Despite almost being perfect, it’ll come down to whether you like having a cumbersome phone (or a mini tablet) that will be hard to carry. I’m sure putting it on your pockets is not an option. Or you will not think portability as an issue and enjoy the big screen Android. If only Samsung Galaxy S2 has the same battery...

Price of Samsung Galaxy Note is said to be cheaper than the Galaxy S2 and will be released later this year.

Update: Samsung Galaxy Note is expected to have a very expensive price tag of around $1000.
