Riding a taxi cab can be a nightmare here in Metro Manila. Almost everyone who rides a cab have some story to tell about abusive drivers. Choosing passengers/destination, not using the meter and asking more than the right fare are just some of the examples. Other situations are even worse. I was also a victim of some of their modus operandi. The only thing I did was list the plate numbers but never get to complain about it at the LTFRB.
Good thing is that the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) activated a hotline and text number to receive complaints from commuters. Passengers can either call 7890 or text 0918-8848484. This is a good timing since the Holiday season is near.
I hope that the DOTC will not just receive the complaints of commuters but also act upon them. Beware Taxi drivers that love to victimize passengers going to and from the airport!
i have that number in my wallet.. tinatago ko talaga yung papel na binibigay ng guard, sa pila ng taxi sa mall.. para in case magloko and cab driver, ay isusumbong ko talaga.. :) i thik sinave ko pa nga yon sa nawala kong phone e.. save ko kaya ule..

Yeah, para mabawasan ang mga loko lokong taxi drivers at mabago ang image nila.

No problem. It's kind to give tips to good taxi drivers. What I don't like is when they obliged you to pay extra.
Any feedback yet on whether or not the govt actually addresses the complaints reported by commuters to this number? BTW alternative numbers are:
