What Earth Run? Feels Like Earth Walk To Me

Earth Run 2010 is a success for me. Despite the “unorganized” distribution of kits in Trinoma and Glorietta 3, and the rumored no energy drinks during stops, the event went well and more than 7000 runners had fun running around the Fort during the race.

Since two Fun Runs took place earlier today, one in Mall of Asia which was sponsored by Nat Geo and Earth Run in the Fort sponsored by Solar Entertainment, it’s not hard to compare the 2 events. According to those who participate in Nat Geo’s Earth Run, they were disappointed by the lack of freebies and water stops service by the organizers. It’s expected that the Nat Geo Earth Run would be better because of the expensive registration fee of 600 php compared to the 250/300 php registration fee in Earth Run the Fort. The Earth Run the Fort has water stops and Innergize energy drinks strategically placed during the race and freebies given out after the race like magazines, granola bar and cold face towel.

Being the first run I ever joined, I am satisfied with the outcome of the race. Though I walked halfway the finish line, I enjoyed looking at the others who running around me. A guy in a wheelchair and a guy with a dog even went ahead of me. Guess I need to be prepared for my next run which will be the Takbo Paa that is sponsored by the Pediatric Alumni Association of St. Lukes Medical Center on May 23, 2010 at McKinley Hill, Taguig. Aside from that, I'm waiting for the Race Results to be posted and the Photos from Photovendo.
