First Nurse’s Fun Run 2010 Para sa Kinabukasan

The 1st Nurse’s Fun Run 2010 Para sa Kinabukasan is scheduled on December 5, 2010 at the CCP Complex, Roxas Blvd, Manila. It is a “buddy” system Fun Run where pairs compete for a 3.5 km run. The pair should start and finish the race together. Registration costs 600 PhP for every pair. Singlet design and contents of the race kits/loot bag is not yet announced.

We did a lot of things during our 1 week vacation in Singapore. We visited places, eat good and weird stuffs, shop, took lot of pictures, try different types of transportation including the Singapore Cable Car, and joined a running event. It was just a 3K mini marathon (since the 10.5K marathon registration fee is a little expensive for us), but it is not one ordinary run. It was a trail Run.

Tour de Trail took place at MacRitchie Reservoir last September 26th. I and my 2 sisters participated in the 3K run. Other categories were 10.5 individual and a relay. It was our first time to said place so we did not expect what the path would be. We started in the assembly area inside the Reservoir, then to the highway and into a passage going back to the reservoir. The passage is narrow and surrounded by trees. The ground is wet, muddy and some gravels, rocks, branches and twigs in some places. The path goes uphill and downhill. The view is great as if you’re inside a jungle and we even passed by a small lake. It was sure a long path that seems to never end. The trail goes back to the concrete part of the reservoir and into a straight line towards the finish/start line. Check out the photos I and my sisters took.

Just Keep Running

Joined 2 fun runs this September, St. Luke’s Urology Fun Run last September 5 and this week’s TakBONE Run for a Cause organized by St. Luke’s Orthopedics. Both runs end up well. The St. Luke’s Urology Run was held in the SLMC in Quezon City, while the TakBone in St. Luke’s Global.

Running is pretty easy to do. You just have to put your foot in front of another and you have to do it really fast... That’s a line from the movie Run Fatboy Run. Many do it for some reasons, but personally, running is my way of getting away from things, getting away from stress, boredom, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, problems, etc. Years before, I would say that my way of getting high is skateboarding, but because I’m a lot heavier than my teenage years, I can’t enjoy skating at present without injuring myself. So, running is my new addiction.

The Adidas King of the Road or Simply KOTR will be happening this 24th of October 2010. The event will take place in The Fort Bonifaciio Global City with 5K, 10K and 21K categories. The Registration fee will be 850 PhP for all categories. Yes, that’s 850 Pesos.

Rock and Run and a Whole Lot of Rain.

I should be sleeping right now because I’m dead tired after the Rock and Run Event. Well, the run should be named Rain and Run because of the heavy, storm like rain that pours before and all throughout the entire race. The bands that were supposed to perform were not able to make it but the organizers pushed through with the race. It rained hard but the runners ran harder.

I’m not sleepy yet coz I drank a lot of Redbull and Pocari Sweat during and after the race. So, here’s the story of my first run during a heavy rain.

Run Event: Rock and Run at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig

A rock concert and run event for a cause in one is a first of its kind in the Philippines. Rock and Run is organized by Junior Chamber International manila Chapter for the benefit of Republikha, Inc. The event will take place on June 19th at 28th Street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
