Nokia finally announced officially the Nokia N8, the company’s first 12 megapixel phone. It also supports HD video recording and video editing software preinstalled. The newest Nokia Flagship to be will run under new operating software, Symbian 3.
The internal memory of Nokia N8 is 16GB and is expandable to 42GB. It has 3.5 inch capacitive 360x640 screen and is only 12.9mm thin. It is social networking ready and can even sync with the calendars from the networking sites like Facebook. The phone supports Dolby Digital Surround and is a cool thing to hook with your preexisting home theater system. It can play music up to 50 hours, talk to 12 hours, video recording up to 3 hours and 20 minutes and playback of 7 hours. It has the usual connectivity, GPS WiFi, USB, Built in transmitter and Bluetooth.
Will this be the next iPhone or iPad killer? No. Because even the earlier units from Nokia like the N97 can go head to head and crush the iPhone. I just hope that there will be fewer bugs this time and touch interface will go flawlessly. Can’t wait for it to be available on shelves here in the Philippines. BTW, it is announced to be available on the third quarter of 2010.
