New Year’s Eve is a time to celebrate with the family, friends and special someone. It is also a time for looking back the past year and looking forward to the coming year. 2009 for the Filipinos is not a good year for most because of the tragedies that affected us as a nation and the unresolved problems regarding poverty, corruption, the climbing crime rates and national disasters.
Another year is coming, another chapter to our lives. Still we have to heal the wounds brought to us by Typhoon Ondoy, the terror of the Maguindanao massacre by the Ampatuans, and the list goes on. This coming 2010 will sure not be easy for us, surely because it is a year of National Election. It’ll be a time of a great turmoil. Whatever the outcome of the election, whoever sits on Malacanang will not solve all our problems. Change must come to every individual. We must start making and most importantly acting to reality our New Year’s resolution. Corruption start in little things, apathy don’t solve a thing, lack of discipline, health neglect, procrastination, lust, jealousy, the list goes on. We must learn to act and not just promise to ourselves and to others that this time we will do the right thing. We can make 2010 a better year for us.
Start making your New Year’s resolution now. Start by asking yourself of what is the right thing to do, what is the best thing to do, what are the things that will benefit you and those around you using the right actions. Don’t be afraid of change; don’t be afraid of failures also. Don’t stop learning new things and always strive to be a better person. Happy New Year Philippines!
